Fundraising Coordinator


About the Role:

Concern Australia is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate fundraiser to help raise funds for Concern Australia to support and ensure the sustainability of our six niche programs that deliver positive outcomes for young people through education, housing/homelessness support and youth justice.

We are seeking someone with proven fundraising campaign experience and donor engagement. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working independently with minimal direction.

This is a part time role (2 days per week) and can be based from either our Dandenong or Braybrook office.


About Us:

Concern Australia works in partnership with young people and children (aged 5-21) to help create opportunities for them to enjoy full and meaningful lives. With a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, Concern Australia connects with 30,000 vulnerable young people and children Australia wide, through six innovative programs focusing on Education, Housing and Homelessness, and Justice.


About you:

We are seeking someone who loves fundraising through a range of activities including grants, campaigns, sponsorships, bequests, donor engagement, events and appeals. We need someone to join our Communications Team that will help raise funds that will support Concern Australia’s programs.

With experience in a similar fundraising role, you will enjoy writing grants about our innovative and diverse programs, processing donations, preparing thank you cards and phone calls with donors, along with preparing fundraising acquittals and monthly donation reports. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management skills, strong database and computer skills.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about creating positive outcomes for young people and children experiencing disadvantage in their local community.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Keep track and monitor all relevant funding streams, funding bodies and trusts, to ensure that eligible grant and funding submission deadlines are met
  • Update our grant and donor databases with relevant information to record engagement activities that support our fundraising initiatives
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns and event management (ie. Homelessness Week, Christmas Campaigns, AGM, donor engagement events) and help recruit sponsors, participants or volunteers
  • Assist with identifying potential sponsors or business funding opportunities
  • Keep our supporters and donors up to date with supporting mail-outs
  • Compile and develop materials required for grant and funding applications
  • Help collect research data information for grant submissions
  • Send thank you letters and cards to donors
  • Ongoing communication with donors to ensure high level of engagement


Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar Fundraising role.
  2. Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills to liaise with donors and stakeholders
  3. Proven capacity in grant writing.
  4. Ability to contribute to fundraising targets (eg. grants, appeals, bequests, campaigns, events)
  5. Self-motivated and ability to take on responsibility
  6. Excellent teamwork skills
  7. Experience of fundraising tools include database segmentation and analysis
  8. Operational experience with grants, trusts and foundations
  9. Commitment to Concern Australia values
  10. A passion to support children and young people
