Financial Improvement and Budget Manager

Compassion Australia is looking for a brilliant Financial Improvement & Budget Manager to join our team. Compassion is a Christian international holistic child development organisation that works in 25 countries. Through our Child Sponsorship Program, more than 2 million children are being released from poverty in Jesus’ name.
This key role is responsible for the provision of financial planning and business services, with a focus on ministry priority and strategic initiatives intended to maximise effectiveness and efficiency. The role also coordinates and facilitates Compassion Australia’s budget, foreign exchange and treasury services
As the Financial Improvement & Budget Manager you will also:

·       Collaborate with Compassion management to facilitate the budget process, delivering budget reviews and maximising forecast accuracy

·       Provide financial modelling and forecast services for management and international partner representatives

·       In consultation with policy and the Finance Director you will develop & execute strategies for Compassion Australia’s foreign exchange, cash flow, treasury and investment activities

·       Document, prepare and execute departmental projects


The successful candidate will be an active Christian with a heart for the poor, highly adaptable and a team player, and has:

·       Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to train and coach others

·       Extensive experience in a commercial business role

·       Substantial experience in an analytical role involving financial data

·       Be tertiary qualified with a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline

·       Experience in assembling large and complex budgets

·       Highly proficient in using accounting software

·       Intermediate – Advanced skill level in MS Excel
