Scripture Union Queensland is a
Christian not-for-profit with a heart for youth and children. We are the
largest provider of school chaplains in Australia, and each chaplain is
uniquely placed to support our children and young people as they navigate
life’s increasingly complex issues. We run camps, community outreach events and
At-Risk Youth programs, and offer nationally recognised training programs in
youth work at both Certificate IV and Diploma levels.
About the role
We are looking for a
compassionate Child Safety and Risk Manager with proven expertise,
dedication and hands-on experience in a similar role.
Reporting directly to the
Executive Director Shared Services, you will be responsible for designing and
implementing a robust system that combines all of Scripture Union’s (SU) Child
Protection practices, policies and record keeping. The role has responsibility
for the management of SU’s child protection risk strategies, policies and
systems, insurances, and compliance framework while working with other teams to
develop a culture and practice of organisational risk and management reporting.
The ideal candidate will
have:
· Excellent
knowledge of relevant legislation/s and best practice in terms of Child Safety
and Risk Management;
· Proven experience
in designing and implementing Child Protection risk frameworks and record
keeping systems;
· Previous
experience in a risk / compliance role or similar;
· High level of
communications skills;
· Experience in
communicating in a range of settings to a wide variety of people; and
· Tertiary
education highly desired but not mandatory.
