POSITION PURPOSE:
This purpose of this role is to take the
responsibility of all fundraising initiatives of The Freedom Project, including
but not limited to developing and implementing fundraising strategy and
campaigns with the aim of rapidly expanding our funding capacity. You will be
responsible for recruiting new supporters, donors and advocates and building
our organizational profile amongst Christian and general audiences across
Australia. As a core member of staff, we expect this position to be filled by
someone who aligns with our vision and mission as a faith-based organization.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising Campaigns & Appeals
·
Develop, implement and promote corporate
fundraising programs eg. employer gift-matching and corportate grant programs
or CSR initiatives.
·
Develop, implement & promote other ongoing
general fundraising campaigns and strategies eg. bequests, monthly giving, major
donor program, designated funds etc.

Develop, implement and promote fundraising
appeals through direct mail, email and web-based giving eg. June & December
appeals
·
Research & develop new campaign strategies
to encourage increased donations from existing supporters, lapsed donors and
new supporters
·
Develop, implement and promote fundraising
activities that maximize participation or contributions & minimize costs
for The Freedom Project.
Fundraising Events
·
Establish fundraising or participation goals
and strategy for special events or specified time periods (eg. Fairtrade
Fortnight, or Freecember or other fundraising campaigns)
·
Plan & direct special fundraising events,
such as silent auctions, dances, golf events, walks or other community-based
campaigns.
·
Prepare presentations and call to actions for
events
·
Secure speakers/speaking opportunities for
events or conferences to increase awareness
Marketing
·
Prepare materials for charitable events eg.
giving forms, gift bags, merchandise etc.
·
Develop materials to explain impact of giving
and other benefits eg. tax deductibility
·
Coordinate general fundraising content eg.
flyers, posters, web content, reports, thank you gifts etc.
·
Pursue media opportunities, write media
releases and other promotional materials
Admin/Supporter Relationships
·
Develop and maintain CRM and produce relevant
reports to influence strategy, including relationships with donors, sponsors,
corporate and strategic partners.
·
Invite, follow up and secure commitments of
participation or donation from individuals, groups or corporate donors
·
Monitor fundraising campaign progress, budgets,
expense reports and other financial data, and provide feedback/impact to contributing
supporters.
·
Coordinate supporter processes including
welcoming and thanking donors.
·
Grant research & application including
compiling relevant materials
·
Attend strategic community events and meetings
to raise awareness and solicit support.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Skills
·
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to
build relationships with a wide range of people, including individuals,
corporate donors, schools and churches.
·
Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.
·
Excellent organizational skills with attention
to detail.
·
Ability to work independently, be
self-motivated, take initiative and solve problems.
·
Ability to manage multiple projects, competing
deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
·
Tertiary education in fundraising, marketing or
sales
·
Demonstrated success of fundraising experience
·
Experience in customer service and CRM
databases.
·
Proficiency in Microsoft Office – especially
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
·
Experience in developing and implementing
marketing campaigns (eg. appeals).
·
(Preferred but not essential) Experience in a
Christian NGO, especially with a focus on justice, international projects,
and/or advocacy.
