The Manager Transition & Support has a focus on leading, supporting and developing a team that works with young people and live-in mentors across metropolitan Melbourne.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Program Manager who is experienced in youth work and driven by a desire to ensure that young people realise their potential and rise above the challenges they may face. 

Our Inside Out program provides accommodation and support for vulnerable young people (aged 16-19 years old) as they transition towards independent living. 

Reporting to the General Manager - Service Delivery, you will embody Concern Australia’s commitment to being a child safe organisation, supporting staff and volunteers to provide high quality service and care to young people who have experienced trauma in their lives.

The Position:

The Manager Transition & Support will be responsible for:

·       The overall management and performance of the Inside Out program in line with the Concern Australia (CA) Strategic and Program Plan

·       Ensuring a high standard of care is provided to the young people within Concern Australia’s Connect, Coach and Community (CCC) model and in line with Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and regulatory body standards

·       Ensuring a compliant quality service is being delivered within the program budget

·       Program Development for continuous improvement and innovation

The Inside Out Program houses young people aged 16-18 in the care of DHHS across metropolitan Melbourne in an Enhanced Lead Tenant/Live In Mentor program with 1 or 2 volunteer Lead Tenant/Live In Mentor residing in a Concern Australia managed property with 1 or 2 young people.  The focus is to model, support and equip these young people with the life skills they need to achieve independence.

Applicants must address the key selection criteria (KSC) in the position description.

Along with your KSC, you will also need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proof of your eligibility to work in Australia. (Australian birth certificate, Australian passport, Australian citizenship or a working visa)
  • Information establishing your identity through a Proof of Identity check
  • Consent to a National Police Check or International police check
  • Proof of relevant mandatory qualifications gained
  • Details of referees able to validate information on your skills, knowledge, capabilities, conduct and behaviour
  • Employee Working With Children Check
