Our Mission

We are compelled by love to see thing made right where poverty and brokenness exist. We work collaboratively to build capacity in local organisations in order to release potential, restore dignity and reconcile relationships.


Our Projects

In Australia, Compelled By Love has a project partnership focused on young people – helping both youth at risk and young leaders to discover and reach their potential.

Overseas, Compelled By Love has project partnerships in both India and Rwanda. Projects in India are focused on education, while projects in Rwanda centre around providing trauma counselling, rehabilitation and reconciliation support, combating the impacts of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.


The Role

The Communications Co-Ordinator role is a permanent part-time position (2 days per week), for a person who is passionate about justice and making a difference. In this role they can use their skills to help Compelled By Love to live out its mission, vision and values in its communications across all aspects of the organisation, particularly in engaging new supporters and sharing with existing supporters how their contribution makes an impact.


The ideal person will be able to engage with the Compelled By Love Statement of Faith and have a passion to outwork these values in their own life.


The Communications Co-Ordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a communications strategy for the organisation, incorporating various stakeholders and platforms to build and increase support and engagement.


This will include co-ordination and oversight of:

·       Online and digital media including website, annual report and newsletter/blog

·       Social media including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

·       Printed media including brochures, annual reports and promotional material

·       Donor and supporter communications

·       Photography, images and film

·       Event management

·       Fundraising campaigns

·       Oversight and management of Communications Assistant



Qualifications, Skills and Experience



·       Qualifications or experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or Public Relations.

·       Knowledge and understanding of, as well as experience working with, various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

·       Knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital and social media.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, editing, proofreading, layout and design skills and experience in content writing.

·       Interest in community development and a passion to make a difference.


Highly desirable:

·       Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Previous experience/engagement with the non-profit sector.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·       High organisational and planning skills.

·       Ability to work under pressure.

·       Time management skills.
