Job Title: Case Officer - Survivor Services

Brief description of role

AdSAFE is a service of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific Division. AdSAFE provides protective services for children and vulnerable persons across Seventh-day Adventist entities in Australia, New Zealand and in time the wider South Pacific region.


The role of the Case Officer for Survivor Service is to receive and assist with coordinating responses to abuse allegations. This involves being the point of contact for a complainant throughout an investigation, and being AdSAFE’s point of contact for survivors of abuse. You will also closely liaise with AdSAFE’s Redress Officer.

Based at the South Pacific Division head office in Wahroonga NSW, this will be a full-time (or part-time) role for a two-year period, reporting to the Senior Case Officer of Survivor Services.



Essential Criteria

1.    Supportive of the values, beliefs and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

2.    Relevant tertiary qualification such as social work, social sciences or psychology.

3.    Demonstrated experience in child protection case management, and the impact of trauma on survivors of abuse.

4.    High level interpersonal and written communication skills, including ability to influence, negotiate and relate to people at various levels.

5.    High level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

6.    Proven communications and people management skills.

7.    Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure.

8.    Ability to work autonomously as well as think strategically in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

9.    Demonstrated ability to manage varying and/or conflicting stakeholder demands.

10. Computer literacy particularly with Microsoft office suite.

11. Hold a current Working with Children Check (NSW)

12. Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History check.


Desirable Criteria

1.    A working knowledge and understanding of child protection in a religious context.

2.    Experience in providing advice on the implementation of child protection compliance.

3.    Previous experience in a religious, Not-for-Profit or charitable organisation highly valued.
