WIRRAWAY HOMESTEAD LIMITED

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Position description

Wirraway Homestead Limited (Wirraway) is seeking suitably qualified individuals to join the Board of Directors to fill a couple of vacancies. The Board is responsible for governance and setting the strategic direction and policies to meet the objectives of the Constitution and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Board consists of experienced professionals with a diverse set of skills and experience from a wide range of business and community sectors. The Board is looking to expand the number of directors and augment the current skillset.

About the organisation

Founded in 1975, Wirraway Homestead is a not-for-profit school camp and school holiday campsite located just out of Strathalbyn which runs throughout the year for young people aged 10 years and over. It offers an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities on 180 acres of countryside, staying in buildings arranged in a beautiful setting and to experience the love and acceptance that comes from our organisation’s Christian beliefs.

With an experienced CEO and robust staff structure, Wirraway Homestead is currently undertaking an exciting period of expansion in services and reach – through the addition of an ‘Outback Camping’ experience targeted at high school students – providing a unique outdoor experience for campers and addressing a strong school curriculum demand.

Wirraway Homestead is a fully self-sustainable organisation with a staff of around 15 full time members and approximately 10 students - which continues to positively affect the lives of thousands of young people each year.
