As a dynamic and growing organisation, we are looking to add to our growing team a highly motivated individual with a passion for demographics, data analytics and quantitative research.

The Demographic and Research Analyst will be responsible for managing a range of research projects, with a focus on quantitative and scoping projects which involve data analysis and report writing for a range of clients in the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. The role will focus strongly on data analysis and demographic story-telling through the dissection and application of publicly available data-sets including the Australian Bureau of Statistics data and tools.

Key areas of responsibility

Data analysis and scoping research

  • Analysing demographic data to identify key stories, themes and trends.
  • Desktop research including compiling existing research and datasets.
  • Geo-mapping and geographical demographic analysis.
  • Visual analytics of data for clients and media communication.

Managing quantitative research projects

  • Assisting with the development and deployment of surveys.
  • Analysis of data including segmentation analysis.
  • Report writing and editing, including drawing out key insights from data.
  • Presentation of research findings.

Research innovation and solution design

  • Assist the Team Leader of Analytics identify new and innovative research solutions.
  • Discovering and implementing new data analysis tools.
  • Assist research team in preparing research proposals that incorporate data analytics.

Desirable skills and attributes:


·      Proficiency in using Tableau and Carto.

·      Prior experience with demographic data, Australian Bureau of Statistics datasets and other datasets.

·      Experience in population modelling & forecasting or similar data analysis.


This position would suit someone from an analytics background with an interest in social research, demographics, market analysis and trends forecasting.



The position is a full-time role and applications close Friday 8 June 2018. Salary package will be negotiated depending on experience.
