Sports Chaplaincy Australia (SCA) is the peak association in Australia commissioned with identifying, training, appointing and guiding chaplains in sports. It is a Christian non-denominational, Not-For-Profit charity providing sports communities and associations with member care in the form of pastoral care in accordance with its professional code of conduct and guiding principles.

We are looking for a highly competent and experienced Finance Manager to join our close knit national team in a part-time role. Reporting to the COO this end-to-end office role serves a large and growing community of over 750 volunteer chaplains placed in sporting clubs across Australia - from grassroots to the elite levels.


The successful applicant will be responsible for:

·       Managing the finance function for the organisation, including membership, donation and subscription invoicing and receipting; month and year end close; preparation of reports for Executive, Board, and governmental levels; supporting grant submissions; delivering and managing statutory and auditing requirements

·       Liaising with Executive team on annual budget development and on-going forecasting

·       Managing the transactional finance responsibilities, ensuring accuracy of accounts payable and receivable functions

·       Work collaboratively with SCA staff to develop and improve financial systems, processes and procedures

·       Assist with the delivery and oversight of occasional projects when required


The following skills, knowledge and experience will be highly regarded:

·       CA/CPA Qualified

·       Proficiency with XERO and related accounting software

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and CRM database

·       Strong management skills – Project planning, people & time management

·       Previous experience in ministry or not-for-profit sectors
