Strategic Partnerships & Marketing Manager
Full Time Contract | Sydney, NSW

The Centre for Public Christianity (CPX) is a not-for-profit media company that offers a Christian perspective on contemporary life. We seek to promote the public understanding of the Christian faith by engaging mainstream media and the general public with high quality well-researched print, video and audio material about the relevance of Christianity in the 21st century.

This vital role will be responsible for developing and implementing crucial strategies to maximise the impact of the important work of CPX. We are seeking someone with demonstrated experience in marketing or business development/strategic partnerships who understands, is aligned with and is passionate about our work and mission.

·       Connection and liaison with a wider family of Christian organisations under Bible Society Australia, including Koorong Books, Eternity News and the Bible Society itself.

Role Specifics:

We require someone who can help increase CPX’s current impact and influence by:

a)    Developing strategic partnerships with churches, para-church organisations, media, university groups and Christian individuals, both domestically and internationally, who will utilise and promote our resources and personnel;

b)    Working with our fundraising team to build relationships with potential donors;

c)    Ensuring that marketing best-practice is employed by CPX to ensure that our team and content reach the largest audience possible with the greatest impact.

We anticipate the duties of this role will include the following:

·       Managing existing and developing new strategic partnerships with those organisations mentioned above to:


a)    Raise CPX’s profile in the Australian Christian community and to promote the broader CPX offering;

b)    Secure CPX’s participation at suitable events and conferences across Australia and abroad;

c)    Secure additional funding streams. 

·       Working with the CPX leadership to craft and implement an effective marketing and public relations strategy that utilises an effective engagement mix of:

    • TV and Print
    • Podcasts and digital content
    • Social Media
    • Event and conference participation

·       Manage and develop relationships with senior producers and editors across the major media outlets to secure CPX participation within radio, TV and print

·       Create and implement effective marketing campaigns that promote soon-to-be-released CPX documentaries to the general public and other Christian networks in Australia and abroad

·       Create and manage an Australia-wide network of CPX spokespeople in local churches and para-church organisations who can act in an ambassadorial capacity to promote the CPX mission and message in the public arena

Key Criteria:

To be successful for this role the candidate will ideally hold the following attributes:

·       A deeply held passion for the effective communication of the Christian message to the general public in Australia

·       Demonstrated experience working in a Strategic Partnerships and/or Marketing Management/Business Development capacity 

·       Experience in executing marketing plans aligned to support organisational objectives

·       Experience in originating and securing funding/sales in a corporate or not-for-profit environment

·       Proven ability to work well independently and to collaborate within a team

·       Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

·       Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Marketing or similar

·       Theological qualifications are desirable but not essential
