Job Description:

 

Highly organised, attentive to detail and process, able to manage competing tasks and calmly confident. Bible Society Australia is looking for just such a person to undertake the role of Executive Secretary.

 

Based in Sydney near Circular Quay, you will assist the BSA Group Executive team and be an integral part of a medium-sized and busy office in the Sydney CBD.

 

Bible Society Australia is an Australian not-for-profit company dedicated to making the Bible available to all people, in Australia and around the world, in a language they can understand, a format they can use, and at a price they can afford. We also help people engage with the Bible, and advocate for its value for individual and social flourishing.

 

Founded in 1817, BSA is part of a movement of 146 Bible Societies around the world. We are a growing organization, grouping together the Bible Society itself, Koorong Books, the Centre for Public Christianity and Eternity News.

 

Executive Secretary duties may include:

 

·       reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer, as part of an administrative team;

·       managing aspects of the executive team’s commitments, including diaries, meeting arrangements, expenses, communications, travel plans and acting as gatekeeper;

·       secretarial functions for the Executive team;

·       monitoring tasks given to the executive team to ensure project delivery, in particular coordinating reports and executive responsibilities;

·       assisting with Executive and Board meetings and preparing materials;

·       providing assistance to the publishing team including the project management of publishing projects

·       various secretarial duties

 

Job Requirements:

 

In order to succeed in this role, you are likely to have:

 

·       at least three years experience in a similar role

·       qualifications in administration or similar

·       superior organisational and interpersonal skills

·       project management experience

·       ability to work independently and alone, as well as in teams

·       a strong sense of service and responsibility

·       a willingness to respond to needs of an international organization outside office hours

·       an ability to communicate both upwards and across the organisation

·       a friendly and patient manner, qualities of perseverance and resilience

·       an understanding of and commitment to the Christian and non-government charity sectors.
