Seeking expressions of interest to serve as a Director
Green Collect is a social enterprise with a substantial office waste recycling business operating from premises in Braybrook and Yarraville. It operates out of Christian convictions and seeks to serve people in need, to do good for the environment and to provide a great service to other organisations. It is a tax deductible public benevolent charity that is operating a growing business aiming to increase its positive impact on the environment and those in need.

The company’s constitution states that its purpose is:
to help people facing significant barriers to employment with a focus on:

  1. providing the opportunity to gain and maintain regular employment in a flexible work environment; and
  2. providing on the job training to enable skill and confidence development that assists in the transition to more permanent employment and breaks the cycle of poverty, homelessness or long-term unemployment; and
  3. providing job support, ongoing mentoring and encouragement.

The company’s way of achieving this object is through the delivery of the Green Collect office waste collection service and resource recovery activities, including retail and reuse business. Customers and partners include Sustainability Victoria, state government departments, local government and corporate entities.

Green Collect has embarked on a significant phase of growth recently and is now seeking to increase the range of skills of its governance board by the appointment of 2-3 new directors. We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals with a passion for these purposes coupled with significant business experience. If you would like to help direct us responsibly towards larger sustainable impact we’d love to talk to you.

Directors of Green Collect serve voluntarily. We meet during business hours approximately 6 times/year, and some discussion and planning work will be required between meetings. An information pack about the business will be sent to those who express interest in considering this, and we aim to discuss the role with candidates in the week between 29 January 5 February 2018.
